    Hiking and river play area

Ranzan Keikoku or Ranzan valley is a picturesque area in Ranzan Town in the Hiki District of Saitama. There are various hiking courses in the area. During the summer the river is used for water play. The area is public and as such is free to amble, but if you want to park at the main car park at the barbecue site you have to pay. The area is particularly picturesque in Autumn when the tree leaves are changing colour. It is still fairly off the beaten track and the tourist trail even though it has featured in a lot of travel magazines the last couple of years. There are several spots with added scenic features such as old stone bridges or stepping stones. The nearest station is Ranzan Musashi on the Tobu Tojo line. It is about a 35 scenic walk to the area from the station.
