Dense shopping, greenery, and soccer mania

Urawa Station is now one of my favorite hubs in Saitama City. It is crowded, sure, but it has a lot of shopping, services, and even better, charm. The station is home to an Atre shopping complex and on either side are shopping destinations such as Parco and the home-grown Corso department store-style building. One of the appeals is the jewel-box Urawa Station facade at the east exit. Consider it an extention of the Railway Museum at Saitama Shintoshin, two stops north. Another is the monuments to soccer in celebration of the Urawa Reds. Spot all the soccer-related statues and signage! The west side has greenery that hints at Tsuki Shrine and Besshonuma Park beyond.
