    The Best Local Japanese Experience

I love this place. This izakaya restaurant keeps that local Japanese experience while having high-grade (at least to me) food quality. The staff were accommodating and, while they have that “face” aspect, they don’t try to hide if there is something that bothers or entertains them. On my visit, we had a lady with tattoos, several piercings, and a topknot, which I think is very rare for Japanese wait staff. She was friendly and accommodating while being very to the point, which I appreciated. And the food here, is amazing! Everything is so fresh and made with care. The oysters we got were sweet without bitter taste of silt that has become the reason I avoid oysters in the first place. Their specialty is eel, and it showed. The eel on rice was savoury and the taste of the grill was just right - and we didn’t feel sauce was at all necessary! Seating is spacious and cozy. There is also a second floor but it was closed during my visit. The only difficult part is there is absolutely zero English at this location, so you’d really need to flex Japanese skills to fully enjoy here.
