Traditional Bakery

A traditional Japanese bakery. The Japanese would call this place a ‘Showa Style’ bakery as the feel is super traditional. All of the price tags are handwritten to give you some idea of this bakery’s overall style. The savory vegetable stuffed dumpling was light and chocked full of vegetables, precisely what I was hoping for. The one sweet treat I recommend above all others is the sweet red bean and maple cinnamon roll. It’s light yet impressively filling, and the cinnamon is delicious without drowning out the other flavors. The occasional sweet red bean with every second to third bite felt like a bonus. I will absolutely buy more of these! The tuna toast was a good balance of tuna and cheesy. This bakery is proof that baked goods don’t have to be complicated to be delicious. The only problem is parking. It’s on a super busy street, so if you’re walking to the bakery, no problem at all, but if you’re driving, especially if you have to cross a lane of traffic to park, you could be waiting awhile. The staff was knowledgeable and answered my questions, and they worked quickly and competently when the line started to get a little long when people all started heading to the register at once.
