Great Coffee in Tokyo's Most Eclectic Shopping Center
There are probably a lot of reasons you make have heard to go to Nakano Broadway. It may be for a vintage watch, or a super expensive new one. It may be for some timeless anime memorabilia, or train goods you never knew you could own. It could be for vintage stuff, cameras, sex toys, audio gear, computers, or books. But not many are told to go there for it's coffee, which is a shame because it has one of the best places to try Fulgen's coffee beans through a different lens. Bar Zingaro is tucked away in the corner on the third floor right near one of the best places to search "junk" cameras. They regularly serve two types of espresso, one of which usually coming from the revered Fulgen Coffee. I've always been a bit more interested in what other shops do with a famous roaster's beans because once you get too huge there's not much room for change or experimentation. But with a place like Bar Zingaro, there are no rules, the coffee can be molded however they feel is best. Balance is cool and all but so are surprises. Every time I've gone, Bar Zingaro's given me surprises without compromising balance too much. As a bonus, they're also covered in Murakami artwork for many fun photo opportunities.
