A fun day out if you love Hello Kitty!
I loved Hello Kitty (and others from the Sanrio franchise) since I was a kid, so when we moved to Japan I had to visit - even though I was a fully grown adult ;) If you love all things Sanrio, this is an enjoyable spot for a day out. There are a variety of parades and shows, rides, Sanrio retail stores, and even themed food...because it wouldn't be Japan without themed food, right? I'd love to head back here at some point since I have kids now, and I think they'd get a real kick out of it too. Accessibility is easy, since it's right by the Tama Center Station.

Kawaii culture paradise
Quintessential Japanese theme park dedicated to Hello Kitty, Gudetama, My Melody and all the characters created by Sanrio. It is one of the best places de enjoy kawaii culture in Japan. From its colourful exterior to the dreamlike illumination inside, it feels as entering a fairy tale world, where worries and evil cease to exist. It will be enjoyed by anyone who looks for a pure, happy and sweet atmosphere, and is popular with families, couples, groups of friends (many young women) and of course, Sanrio fans. The theme park is fully indoor, so it can be enjoyed in any weather. However, if you are looking for thrills, you will be disappointed: there are only two rides and they go at a walking pace. Instead, the highlights are the beautiful parade, the various theatre shows and the character goods and foods. Note 1: The tickets for Sanrio Puroland are significantly cheaper at discount tickets shops, such as Daikokuya, which you can find all around Tokyo. Note 2: As of January 2021, the park is open, but you need an online reservation in addition to the ticket. The parade doesn't take place and the space is organized in a stricter way. However, the tickets are really cheap at the discount shops, we got ours for about 800 yen. The cleaning and security inside are great, so although not perfect, it isn't such a bad time to visit.
