    Surprisingly High Class

I was not expecting the quality of the location when I came across it. Nestled right next to the train station, I would have thought this izakaya would be a dingier affair, especially since it was surrounded by family restaurants and chains like Denny’s or Jonathan’s. Their signage was easy to miss too, at least for kanji illiterate people. They only had a red sign in kanji noting they were on the fourth floor of the building. Walking in, one would see a spacious seating arrangement, compartmentalized into several rooms. Some were private booths, while there was a centralized hall of tables. I believe the booths were reservation-only. Service was good and prompt. There was a level of politeness that can only be described as very Japanese. Their food was amazing and genuinely a cut above most other places. The only negative thing I can say about this place is that it hurts the wallet. Most of the menu items are expensive and, if you’re not careful, can lead to a heavy bill at the end of your visit.
