Great on campus cafeteria style eats (open to the public)
There’s no such thing as a free lunch but there are cheap ones out there, and the shokudo at the International University of Japan offers those up. There are a range of eats on offer (the menu changes daily) with lots of dishes drawing inspiration from around the globe. There are also a large number of halal meals available for Muslim students. The hearty meals usually only set you back around 500 yen and you get a lot of food! The cafeteria is also open to the public, not just for university students - so bear that in mind if you’re in the area and looking for a bite. The staff at the shokudo are very friendly and really seem to care about the food they make. For value for money and a quick meal, this is a great place.
