Enjoy a Crab-y FEAST!
OHISO is a restaurant that serves Japanese cuisine, specializing in seafood. It is also located in Sapporo’s NIJO MARKET; an area where you can find a lot of food stalls, izakayas, restaurants, and of course buy fresh seafood; making it a very popular destination for food connoisseurs. My husband and I went there before 8am to avoid the crowd. There weren’t that many early-birds going around the market, but there were already people lining up at OHISO. We waited for about 20 minutes before we could go in. We ordered: 1. Jumbo Size Grilled King Crab 2. 350g Crab (which was served in a boat) 3. Crab Fried Rice It was a bit pricey, but I think it would be more expensive if we had that meal in Tokyo. So, it didn’t bother us that much. Anyways, the food was fresh and tasty; plus, the staffs were nice. They really tried their best to speak in English even though we said it’s okay to speak in Japanese. Most Japanese people I meet, during my travels, won’t even try to speak English, especially when they find out you understand their language. I don’t mind though, but I really appreciate the effort. The people in Hokkaido were so welcoming.
