Historical temple in the Tokyo suburbs
Jindaiji Temple is well worth a visit if you're in the area. It lays claim to being Tokyo's second oldest temple (only beaten out by Sensoji), and it's surprisingly uncrowded for the amount of history. The temple is famous for being somewhere people pray for luck in marriage, so if you're a newlywed or looking to find love then it might be even more incentive to stop by. The surrounding streets are filled with a number of soba restaurants as the area is famous for its buckwheat, so come hungry.
