Simple Japanese eats

Koharu Shokudo is a simple restaurant with a variety of Japanese menu offerings available to choose from. They've got everything from tonkatsu and ramen to udon soba, and curry rice – fairly standard stuff – and the prices for most dishes sit between the 800 to 1200 yen mark. If you do plan on visiting they're closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and they're a cash only venue. We drove here while we were exploring exhibits from the Echigo Tsumari Art Triennale, but it's walkable (just under 10 minutes) from Matsudai Station if you're in the area via public transport.
