Tons of Savory Breads to Enjoy!
This boulangerie has an excellent balance of savory and sweet treats. The semi-dry tomato, olive fougasse was crispy and excellent. The semi-dry tomatoes were rich and flavorful, bordering on overpowering, but the olives tasted deliberately underplayed in the bread because of the natural herbs and salt already part of a traditional fougasse. It was crispy and paired well with pasta and cheese. It’s flavor was reminiscent of focaccia, but it was much crispier and demanded a slow savor when being eaten. The boulangerie also carries side dishes, and I loved the Carrot rappe. The carrots slices were pickled to perfection, a mesmerizing blend of sour and tangy, and pair well with pretty much any main course, either Japanese or western. Of course, there were also desserts. The tiramisu was lighter than many others I’ve tried, and the coffee flavoring was a little too faint for me as a coffee enthusiast, but the creamy marscapone cheese was just the right amount of sweet. Can’t wait to go back and sample more of their delicious breads and desserts.
