Manuscripts and photos in a heritage house
Odawara City's mild climate between Sagami Bay and the mountains attracted statesmen, industrialists, and writers. The Odawara Museum of Literature documents the lives of modern novelists who lived and wrote in the city. Even if you're not fully literate in Japanese, I recommend a visit for the two heritage houses, the striking photos of novelists, the displays of their belongings and manuscripts. The museum certainly got me interested in learning more about authors such as novelist Tanizaki Junichiro and nursery rhyme author and translator Hakushu.
