Good for camping, not so much for play
Tsurumaki Park in Shimotsuke City is a relatively new park. As a stand alone park, there is nothing special about it. However, if you are camping in the neighbouring campsite, the park is a nice extra facility to have. The park is mainly used for the river where people fish. The campsite isn't well known, but it is very nice for the type of campsite that it is. We visited with three other families and it was ideal for what we wanted. The park had enough playground equipment to entertain the kids when they were weren't running around or doing camp activities. There is also a hill in the park that kids can slide down on a sleigh or cardboard (bring your own). The park is open 24 hours as is the campsite, but the park management facility is only open from 8.30 am to 4 pm.
