All for the Alpacas
This place was a lot of fun. It was affordable, less than 1000 yen per person, and while the walk into the grounds can be a bit on the muddy side, rubber boots are available in a large variety of sizes. On our December 2017 visit, there was a little snow on the ground and a chill in the air, but still the furry animals were out and about. Some of them were very interested in us, though we only found out why after a short walk down the path where we found an alpaca-food capsule machine. There were a couple of the little machines about and boxes nearby to accept discarded plastic capsules so as to avoid hurting the animals via accidental ingestion. We were given the opportunity to pet a baby alpaca who was only a few months old, and nearby, pet several large and fluffy full-sized beasts for a small fee. The gift shop is worth a stop as well, where you can buy wool gathered from the alpacas, goods made from said wool, postcards featuring the friendly animals on the farm, and a number of other souvenir goods ranging from cookies to wash-cloths. If you have a need to experience nature and animals, spend a couple of hours at the Nasu Alpaca Farm. http://www.nasubigfarm.com/
