Oyatsumaru Kobo

Bakery that's only open on days ending in 5

Oyatsumaru Kobo is a bakery in the Akiha ward area of Niigata City, and they have a unique business model -- they're only open on days of the month that end in the number 5 (5th, 15th, and 25th). The menu is fairly limited, but what they do offer is done well -- their chiffon cake in particular is so light and fluffy! Nothing was priced at more than 300 yen when I visited, either, which I thought was pretty reasonable and on par with most other bakeries I've visited in Japan.
