Tonkatsu, sushi, and more!
We stumbled upon this place while walking through Matsushima. My big reason for deciding on this restaurant over the others in the vicinity had more to do with the hunger headache brewing in my skull and picture of tonkatsu on their street level sign than anything else. It turns out that this move of desperation was actually a great move. The space was nice and comfortable, even for my 4 year old, and everyone found something they could eat on the menu. It wasn't the cheapest food we've eaten but the quality of the dishes prepared seemed comparable to the price. There is a tatami area in the back as well as a sushi bar to the right, but we sat in the more western-style chair-and-table section, which overlooked the ferry pier and Godaido shrine. The food was so good and my battery was so low that I did not manage to get pictures, but please trust that it is one of the better restaurants in the area for a pretty affordable price.
