Above the clouds, if you are lucky

Unkai Terrace gives you beautiful scenery of the mountains in Hokkaido. If you are lucky, you could also see some clouds covering the mountains, which makes it feel like you are above the clouds. When my husband and I went here, it was too foggy on the observation deck. You need to climb the mountains (again) for about 20 minutes or more to get that view. My husband did, but I just stayed at the observation deck because I wasn’t feeling well. Aside from the clouds, there are some modern art installations and a coffee stand that sells coffee with a cloud-shaped marshmallow on top. It’s too sweet though, so if you like your coffee bitter, this is not the cup of Joe for you. NOTE: Even though it’s summer, make sure to bring a jacket with you because it can get quite chilly up there.
