Early morning breakfast available, but the french toast is way too sweet!

Cafe Knut is situated on the bottom floor of Hotel Knut, a backpackers type hostel a short walk from Matsue Station. I popped in there to grab some breakfast, since they were one of the only spots open at 7.30am. The good - their prices are cheap. 600 yen for a very "hipster" styled french toast isn't a bad deal, in my opinion. It's also a really cool premises, probably because it's geared to the youthful crowd - there's a giant tree stump parked right in the middle of the cafe, chic exposed concrete walls and the like - it feels very trendy. The bad - the coffee was pretty meh and the french toast was so sugary that even after pushing most of the whipped cream off, I still felt like I was on a one way ticket to diabetes after a few bites.
