Iwappara Cosmos Park

Ultra tranquil cosmos park

I find myself tossing up which of Japan's seasonal flowers I like best, but during autumn I think cosmos are absolutely lovely. There are numerous destinations to enjoy them across the country, but for flowers and stellar views the Iwappara Cosmos Park in Uonuma is a spectacular sight. Thousands of cosmos bloom with a stunning mountain backdrop, and best of all you don't have to contend with crowds at all. On the occasions I've visited here we've basically been the only people here, or maybe with a handful of others. On-site parking is available and plentiful, making this a really beautiful and stress-free spot for some flower viewing. Also, it's free!
