Tokyo surprises me on the regular with the wide range of quality coffee shops you'll find in each and every suburb. If you're in Koenji, one to check out is Coffee Cone. You can get your coffee of choice served in a waffle cone rather than a mug - super fun! The owner of the cafe is super friendly, and I'd go back for that aspect alone. Aside from the coffee, there is soft-serve ice cream, cakes, toast, and popcorn on their menu - fairly minimalist, but let's be honest - visiting for the quirky coffee alone is worth it.
