Crafty Coffee
The true measure of a coffeehouse is how they prepare and offer a black cup of coffee, and Days Coffee Roaster hit it out of the ballpark! The cafe is part of the Nest complex, and the cafe itself a compact space, but they are making the most of it. They have even designated an ‘in’ path and ‘out’ path for peak traffic times. The main counter area has several carafes offering coffees from different parts of the world with varying flavor profiles. The staff are very well versed in each of the coffees and happily offer their suggestions based on your preferences. A customer is able to order from their prepared coffee menu, such as oat milk lattes or a positively decadent sounding cafe mocha, but if you prefer pour overs, you can choose from the previously mentioned coffees. I tried the Ethiopian Tamiru Murago, and it was amazing. At first sip, I was happy to detect peach and pear notes, but as the coffee cooled, there were more umami, almost savory notes to the coffee. It was lovely how the tasting experience transformed in the cup as I was enjoying it. It was medium bodied and made me want to have something slightly sweet to nosh on while I was drinking it. The sheer possibilities of trying the myriad coffees on offer means I’ll have many trips and tasting experiences to look forward to. Is the price a little on the high side? Yes, it is, but for personally curated coffees, I’m perfectly happy to pay for continued care in coffee bean selection. There are both outside and inside seating areas, and a few parking spaces to use. The space has a very bohemian, relaxed atmosphere, and it’s excellent location to read a few pages of a book and enjoy a flavorful cup of coffee.
