Vietnamese restaurant with a nice surprise
Vietnamese cuisine has always been known for its rice noodle soup dishes, or pho. Some restaurants would probably serve rice-and-viand dishes, but it has never been known to have rice porridge. Which is why Jasmine Place was a pleasant surprise. They have an array of rice porridges - in chicken, beef, and seafood flavors. I ordered their Chao Bo or the beef porridge, and it did not disappoint. Its texture was not as thick as a Hong Kong-style porridge (I was kind of hoping for that) but definitely tasty. I coupled that with their Bahn Cuon or steamed spring roll. While that was good, I somehow wish it was a bit cheaper than its price. Rarely do I see restaurants that show only the tax-included prices on their menu, and I appreciate this restaurant for doing so. Is it worth a visit? For their menu and their cozy ambiance, I'd say yes.
