Miyoshi parking area inbound

Relatively big, but popular

The Miyoshi Parking area is one of the bigger ones, near Tokyo, on the Kanetsu expressway, but its very popular so its often packed. It has a gas station, which not all of them do. And it is a good choice of eateries. Its bigger than the one on the far side, on the way out of Tokyo. There is a Smart Interchange which means you can leave the expressway from the parking area, but you have to have an ETC. Something to be very careful of, if you do want to shop or eat in the parking area before exiting the highway, you need to first leave and then use a special parking lot at the side of the complex. This is quite unusual and I'm sure I'm not the only person who was caught out by this! If you mess up like I did, you have to continue on to Tokorozawa interchange, exit there and back track to Miyoshi on normal roads!
