Just a FYI if you're visiting this year
If you're planning to visit the cosmos field this year, unfortunately the flowers are pretty much flattened because of rain and wind that happened over the three day weekend for the equinox holiday. They also bloomed a bit earlier than usual, so I would skip it this year and try to come back in 2025!

Cosmos with a Sea of Japan view
The Sadomihira cosmos field is a beautiful autumnal spot to check out in Niigata, as the flowers bloom with views out over the Sea of Japan! The flowers are usually at their best here in October, so keep that in mind if you plan to check it out in future years. If you're visiting via public transport you can get there in about 10 minutes on foot from Kasashima Station.
