    Small but open sunflower fields

Shimoyatsubayashi Sunflower field is a small sunflower field beside the Kawajima Town Hall and Heisei no mori park. Apart from the town hall and adjacent facilities and the park, there is nothing else in the immediate area except rice paddies. The sunflower fields aren't particularly large, but they are open to the public this year despite Coronavirus. Several of the large sunflower fields in Saitama are closed on account of the virus outbreak, so if you are looking for somewhere to see sunflowers at least you have an option. (Shinrin Park's sunflower field is also open to the public). Bonus: toward the end of the season they let you pick the sunflowers for free. There is no parking, but the parking for the town hall is just a two minute walk away. Or you can use the car park of Heisei no mori park which is only about a ten minute walk away. That park has some lotus in bloom at the moment.
