Interesting Places in Yokohama

    Being a port city, the amount of variety in Yokohama is quite outstanding. From the seaside to Chinatown, Yokohama has a lot to offer, sure to please almost anyone who visits. Today, I will tell you about some of the most well-known parks and tourist spots in Yokohama.

                                                                           Yamashita Park

    Located in Yokohama's Naka Ward, Yamashita Park is a popular place for both locals and tourists. The park is famous for its docking of the ocean liner ship, Hikawa Maru. Along the shore, the park has various areas for people to gather, and relax. Within the park, there is also a flower garden which has a variety of beautiful flowers that bloom in the spring. I would recommend you to visit at least once, just to see the view. I'm sure that if you have time while visiting the Yokohama or Tokyo area and you go once, you'll want to go again in the future.

    I think it's a pretty nice place to just take a walk, hang out, or have a picnic. Throughout the year, there are numerous festivals held in Yamashita Park as well. 

                                                                            Minato Mirai 

    Within walking distance from Yamashita Park, the Minato Mirai 21 area, simply known as Minato Mirai, is popular as well. It serves as the central business district and urban center of Yokohama, connecting tradition with the modern world. Minato Mirai is a major center for tourism, shopping, business, attracting visitors from the surrounding and Tokyo area.

    Major attractions in the area include: Landmark Tower, Cosmo World amusement park, Nippon Maru, a ship docked permanently as a museum, World Porters, Pacifico Yokohama, and the Yokohama Museum of Art.
