Halloween Menus in 2021

Most places in Japan start with their Halloween foods in October, but some restaurants and cafes are a little early having already started serving their season's menu in September. I have already tried two very cute Halloween menus so far that I would like to introduce here.

Q-Pot Café in Omotesando

In an earlier post I introduced the summer menu of the Q-pot Café in Tokyo's Omotesando. Since September the cafe's seasonal limited menu has now changed to Halloween. As usual, you can choose from a dessert plate and an afternoon tea set that also comes with sandwiches and soup. For dinks, you can choose from a spooky-looking cherry soda with an eyeball or a dark chocolate tea latte.

The dessert plate at Q-pot Café comes with one of two cakes: one looking like a brain and one looking like a ghost, sesame ice topped with a bat cookie and a macaron. For the macaron, you can choose from an eyeball or a jack-o-lantern design.

The ghost cake is filled with vanilla mousse & pistachio and berry sauce. The dessert plate is priced at 2,060 yen including a drink, however, the special Halloween drinks will be charged with 200 yen extra.

I like that at Q-pot Café you can customize your Halloween dessert in either a cute way or a spooky way so everyone should find something they like. Also, you get a nice variety of sweets on a single plate for a reasonable price. The cafe itself is also decorated for Halloween, so take a look around to not miss any of the cute details.

Café Eve in Kichijouji

Café Eve is also known for its seasonal limited dessert plates. They started with their Halloween foods on September 14.

You can choose between two versions of a dessert plate. They both look similar and come with a Mt. Blanc cupcake, Japanese style ganache, a ghost parfait and several cute icing cookies. The filing of the ghost parfait is either chocolate mint ice or pumpkin ice.  The Mt. Blanc cupcake comes in either sweet potato or chestnut flavour.

You can also get one of two special Halloween drinks at Café Eve, one being a cider float the other being a milk tea with whipped cream.

The cafe's dessert plates are rather cheap at 1,000 yen each but you have to order a drink or food with it as orders of desserts only are not allowed.

The Halloween limited drinks are 780 yen each but you can also choose one of the cheaper drinks from the regular menu.

I really liked the Japanese style ganache. The ghost parfait was not very easy to eat as it was covered with a rather large mochi.

The Halloween menu from Café Eve offers a nice variety of sweets for a very reasonable price and also allows you to choose from different flavours according to your preference.

As this cafe does not have many seats you might have to factor in some waiting time if you plan to visit on weekends or holidays.

Both menus are available until October 31. Make sure to not miss them if you like Halloween themed foods as much as I do.

Have you already found Halloween foods and menus that you can recommend in 2021?
