Halloween Sweets 2022

Just like in the previous years I bring a report on cool Halloween sweets that are available in Japan in 2022. I hope you enjoy it and get inspired to try some of these out.

Halloween Parfait from Nanas Green Tea

Nanas Green Tea has branches in several prefectures in Japan. They have a nice selection of tea and green tea sweets. During the Halloween season you can also get a Halloween parfait. It is priced at 1,200 yen and available until October 31.

The parfait is filled with pumpkin cream, whipped cream, soft ice cream, sweet pumpkin compote, cornflakes and Houji Tea jelly.

With all the different pumpkin flavors it is perfect for Halloween. You even get to taste small pumpkin pieces.

The cornflakes in the parfait were surprisingly crunchy and deep in flavor. The soft ice was really good as well. The Houji Tea jelly was a little disappointing.

All in all I think the parfait is quite nice and reasonably priced. If you want to enjoy Halloween with a Japanese style dessert, Nanas Green Tea is the place to go.

Halloween Sunday Ice Cream from Baskin Robbins

Baskin Robbins started their Halloween special in the end of September. You can enjoy some special flavors and special ice cream sets for Halloween. The flavors come with cool names like cotton candy or magical "mintnight".

If you prefer your ice cream a little fancy you can also choose the “Sweets Sunday”.

For this ice cream cup you can choose two flavors of ice cream. They will be decorated with whipped cream, chocolate sauce and different cookies.

This dessert is a collaboration with KitKat and therefore comes topped with a KitKat bar as well.

Like most Baskin Robbins products the price varies from store to store. I paid around 700 yen for my Sunday. It is available until October 31.

You can eat at the store or order for take-out. When you order for take-out dry ice for 30 minutes will be provided for free.

Pumpkin Spice Latte and Pumpkin sweets from Starbucks

At Starbucks like every year you can get pumpkin spice lattes in the Halloween season. They are available in hot and cold and start at 510 yen for the smallest size. As I never tried a pumpkin spice latte outside of Japan I can’t really compare it. For me it tasted similar to the gingerbread latte you can get during Christmas time.

On the dessert side you can autumn flavored cakes and scones. I tried the Pumpkin cheese cake. It had a nice rich flavor that really felt like autumn. It costs 510 yen.
