The Weirdest Chicken Nankotsu Karaage
At a restaurant recently, I saw that they had nankotsu karaage (fried chicken cartilage).
I thought "hey, I have not been to an izakaya for a long time. Maybe this can satisfy me".
I expected something that looks like popcorn chicken, but instead, I got these strange arrowheads...
They were chicken cartilage alright, but with no meat attached at all.
I am not sure which part they are from exactly, but they were also very dry and not that fun to chew on.
They end up being one of the strangest things I have eaten in Japan, and I did not enjoy them at all. A disappointing way to spend 550 yen.
