Japanese Saba, but Canned in Vietnam

I have recently been eating and enjoying Chinese canned saba. They tasted really good, a bit too good to be true.

In contrast, I wanted to pick up a can of Japanese saba. For 120 yen, this was quite an increase from the 80 yen Chinese canned saba, but it was still cheap when there are other saba sold for 200 yen a can.

I only realized why after I had purchased it: this was canned in Vietnam.

So they caught the saba in Japan (or farmed it, who knows), shipped it to Vietnam to can it, then shipped it back here???

The transportation makes me question the environmental cost of that. The can was not bad. It tasted fishier and possibly more natural, although honestly not as delicious as the Chinese saba. I will just assume it is healthier, but it also makes me want to try a canned-in-Japan saba next time.

Games, manga, and ramen. Those three things make up my Tri-force lol.
