My life in Japan

Since last October, I have already stayed in Yokohama, Japan for 8 months. Yokohama, which is a prosperous city in Japan, owns the most popular of all cities in Japan. Of my life in this pretty and cultural city, I experienced a lot including good things and bad things. It is believed that this will not only be memorized for long but also be a wonderful story.

The first month in Yokohama, which was one of the busiest periods, was full of excitement and confusion. Due to lack of adaption, my body and mental were so tired at that time. Moreover, we had plenty of welcome parties which were held by seniors and school. Although parties themselves were fun and interesting, socializing was also tiring, since I had to pretend I was good at it. By showing my confidence, I could train my social skills.

There was also a point that I felt so different from my country: the weather. The weather in Taiwan is sweltering and humid. In summer, people sweat a lot even though they just go out for a few minutes. Because of the humid weather, women’s make-up drops, their hairstyle, which is made by much time, is gone as well. These situations did influence me. For example, in summer in Taiwan, I always wear a short shirt with short jeans during weekends, since it is comfortable, simple, and also good-looking. However in Japan, in summer, because the weather is not that sweltering and humid, I can wear long pants with a thin long-sleeve shirt and hang out, which adds more options for me to choose what to wear.

As for the make-up and hairstyle under Japan’s weather, it is true that make-up does not drop that easy in Japan. In Taiwan, some people do not do make-up when they go to school due to the humid weather. In Japan, even though they do not wear make-up, they will wear a mask since they think it is polite. Instead in Taiwan, it does not mean in that way. The most different point for me is about hairstyle. I am the person who likes to use curly iron to make my hairstyle, but in fact, my hair could only remain for a few minutes and it just returned to its original look. But in Japan, the situation is totally different. It keeps so long even over one day. I am so satisfied with this awesome weather which makes my hairstyle unchanged. I not only feel comfortable with the weather but happy with my hairstyle.
