The cereal’s dried fruits are the main appeal, adding something sweet to the cereal without being too unhealthy. The granola mix gives the whole thing a bit of a crunch for most of the time a bowl is consumed. With milk, the whole thing tastes almost exactly the same as a cup of shirokuma shaved ice, with the only difference between them being the texture. Unlike the regular version of Frugra, there’s more of a savoury taste to this version as it aims to mimic the condensed milk flavour of the shaved ice treat. The selling price is also not too different from the regular version, considering it’s a collaborative item.

One of the few things that can be negative about this product is that it isn’t as sweet as the regular Frugra. This seems to be due to the absence of dried papaya and apples; they are replaced with pineapple and coconut. In theory, the pineapple should be carrying the sweetness, but it doesn’t seem to make as much of an impact as the papaya does. While this is healthier than most Western breakfast cereals, it is still high in sugar content, so the calorie content is relatively high. If you enjoy the taste of this cereal, you’re going to need a bit of will power to control your consumption.
