Calbee 47 prefectures flavors - Chiba soy sauce flavor

I love potato chips. And Calbee has featured the flavors of the 47 prefectures of Japan with iconic flavors. You can find them at convenience stores all over Japan. 

Tonight, I scored a hometown favorite - marudaizu shoyu - soy sauce flavor! I live in Noda City, home of the Noda Soy Sauce empire, so I'm swimming in the brown ichor.

On opening the bag, I got a good whiff of soy sauce, reminiscent of the aroma of soy sauce brewing in Noda City. The chips are replete with umami and are satisfyingly crunchy. 

The back of the bag has greetings in various languages from Chiba-kun, the mascot of Chiba Prefecture. It's a clever campaign to get folks to visit.
