Hangyodon is a cute Sanrio character that often seems to get overshadowed by other bigger names like Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll, so I was pleased to see a bunch of Hangyodon merch at my local Daiso recently. This little coin purse is perfect for kiddos saving their allowance cash (or even for adults who enjoy a little dose of kawaii!), and it's a surprise-style pack -- there are six different designs in total that you can get, and there's one of them inside. I got the one pictured, which I think is really cute -- Hangyodon with a boom box and headphones! These would also make cute gifts for a Sanrio loving friend or family member you might have back home. They're not particularly heavy and could even fit in a padded envelope.

The downside to the "surprise pack" element of these is that you don't know which pouch is going to be inside. Obviously there's a big fun component to that, but if you're wanting a specific pouch then you might be disappointed. It's not the sturdiest of pouches, either (what can you really expect for the price) so I don't know how long it's going to hold up over time -- especially if it's jam-packed with heavier coins, for instance. I'm all for a bargain, but I wish the pouch was reinforced a bit more, even if it cost a bit more than the 100 yen plus tax price point.
