Tokyo third in recent Global Power Cities Index ranking
The results of the 2024 Global Power Cities Index were released recently, with Tokyo coming in third on the list—this is the 9th consecutive year that the city has received that ranking. The ranking is determined via several key factors: Economy, Research and Development, Cultural Interaction, Livability, Environment, and Accessibility, so I feel that it's a pretty balanced representation of things that make a city functional.

Tokyo ranked in the top three for the research and development, cultural interaction, and livability metrics, 5th for accessibility, and 10th for economy. The lowest ranking was in the environment category, where the city came in 18th place.
The Global Power Cities Index website notes that this idea of a "power city" is focused on what a destination does well to attract people, capital, and enterprises from around the world. As City-Cost is a community of people who have moved to Japan from abroad, I'm curious as to whether any of the six factors the GPCI focuses on were things that enticed you to move here.
