A cheapo favorite continues to rise in price
Late last year, I wrote that a cheapo favorite, Sukiya, intended to raise their prices due to the rising costs of rice. A mere handful of months later, and that is happening again—around 50% of their menu items went up as of March 18th, and again it's rising prices of rice (and beef, too) that are to blame.
The increase in prices for their beef bowls was between between 20 and 50 yen, with the regular size increasing by 30 yen to 480 yen including tax. Overall, still not a terrible deal considering that's a meal for a single coin, but the fact that the price rises have been in such quick succession is the interesting part.
Let's hope that prices stay stable for a while and don't increase again in a few months time!
