This set is great if you've got a Thomas the Tank Engine (or Thomas the Train for the Americans among us!) fan in your house. The set is bright and colorful, and it has an animal focus – it adds a very cute element to the set. A nice thing about this set is that you can use it with or without a train track set. We already had the rail tracks purchased previously, but you wouldn't need them to have fun with these train sets – you will need batteries, though! I think it's reasonably priced, too. I wouldn't say it's cheap, but not exorbitantly priced, either. My son was really happy with this.

Something to keep in mind if you're purchasing this for a special occasion for your kiddo is that it doesn't come with batteries. Obviously that's not a huge deal, but just be aware of it so you don't need to make a last minute dash to the convenience store or supermarket. Other than that, I don't have much to complain about with this product. It was a hit with my Thomas-loving son, and I feel like most young children who have an interest in Thomas (or with trains in general for that matter) would have a lot of fun with this set, too. The Takara Tomy brand has a lot of Thomas products on Amazon including other train sets (and tracks), so I recommend checking on Amazon for additional items that may catch your eye as well.
