A personal touch

One thing I love about living in the countryside is that you often see those extra personable touches when you shop at local stores. I saw this display at our farmer's market recently, and it contained hand-written recipe ideas for some summer vegetables. They even had cute illustrations on them, and the staff had photocopied them for shoppers to take home if they wanted to try their hand at making some of the recipes.

I think the summer vegetable curry would be my pick, but they had quite a few different ideas to get your creative cooking juices flowing.

If you live in a smaller countryside area, do you see examples of personable touches at the places you shop? Perhaps you even notice them in the city, and it's just that trademark Japanese omotenashi showing!
