If you like cronuts (the croissant + donut hybrid), then check Lawson for this fun, seasonally appropriate version that's out right now. It contains strawberry icing and a strawberry cream filling, and the strawberries are the Tochitome variant from Tochigi Prefecture. The sweet yet slightly sour strawberry cream complemented the crispier cronut style pastry nicely, and overall this was a tasty dessert. I felt that the price was pretty decent, too, at 150 yen including tax -- that's about what I'd expect to pay for a donut, so I've got no complaints there!

A couple of downsides to note about this product, the first is how incredibly calorie dense this is. It's almost 500 calories, which for me is realistically an entire meal. I would recommend splitting this with someone if you don't really want to consume that many calories for a dessert or snack. I also found that the cronut portion was a little greasy feeling -- I prefer lighter feeling donuts, so I don't think I'd repurchase it again. Still, it was fun to try, and the strawberry cream was really delicious. Not sure how much longer it's set to be around for, so have a look at your nearest Lawson while you can!
