Temple Halloween

There are a few places in Niigata Prefecture where you can get your Halloween-feel fix, including places like Echigo Hillside Park and Mitsuke English Garden – both of those spots do a great job of decorating in a fun, photo-spot kind of way. One of the more surprising places that I saw displaying Halloween decorations recently was at a local temple – it isn't somewhere I would've anticipated getting into the spooky season spirit.

If you collect goshuin, they also have a Halloween-themed illustrated one available at the moment with "Trick or Treat" written in katakana. It does cost 1000 yen though, so just keep that in mind if you plan on stopping by.

Have you noticed any of your local shrines or temples getting into the spooky season spirit?
