The description

This product is a packet of the Ginbis tabekko cookies in a seasonal sweet potato variety. I purchased them from my local 7-11 store for 183 yen including tax.

The good

This new flavor of the tabekko animal cookies is autumn-inspired, with a sweet potato and white chocolate flavor. The sweet potato flavor is sourced from Annou potatoes from Kyushu, and they're known for having a higher sugar content than some other sweet potato variants -- so it makes for a logical choice for various desserts/cookies/sweets. My kids still love these for the cute factor, and seeing what animals are in the bag -- but I think even adults can enjoy them. The flavor of these pairs nicely with a morning coffee, so don't think that just because they seem child-like in nature that you can't enjoy them as a grownup!

The not so good

I don't have a lot to complain about with this product -- obviously they're a hit with the kids, they're fun and cute, and the seasonal flavor has a great taste. Because they're a limited time only thing, you've only got a small window to purchase them before they disappear, and that's a downside for folks who really enjoy them. Overall I'd recommend these to anyone who likes the flavors of sweet potato and chocolate, or folks who just like cute eats. They'd also be fun to send home in care packages to any of your friends or family who like Japanese snacks. I got mine at 7-11 but you might be able to find them at other convenience stores or even supermarkets. Happy eating, and enjoy!
