Delicious taiyaki with quintessentially Japanese fillings

If you love taiyaki and love matcha flavored sweets, you're pretty much guaranteed to like this. I typically opt for custard filled taiyaki, so this was a nice change for me as a matcha fan. The filling also has some red beans dotted through it, so it's great if you like those quintessential Japanese flavors. The filling is also really packed in there! I liked that the matcha wasn't bitter tasting, and the red beans added a nice bit of texture to the dessert. The outer was lovely and chewy, too! I think the price is also very reasonable at only 140 yen including tax. It's quite filling, too, which adds to that value for money feeling.

I know that some people out there are very wary of texture when they eat, so the red beans that are included in the matcha filling might be unappealing to some. I also think that you have to really like those earthy kind of flavors to enjoy this. I love them now, but I know that's not the case for everyone – but I don't think you'd go ahead and purchase this if you weren't a fan of those things! Overall, I give it a solid four stars, and I would happily buy it again if it's still in store the next time I stop by.
