Free admission to Echigo Hillside Park on May 4th

If you're in Niigata Prefecture and looking for something fun to do over the Golden Week break, a visit to Echigo Hillside Park is always a nice option. Their annual tulip festival is running right up until May 6th, but on May 4th they're offering free entry. I would anticipate it to be pretty busy on that date, but if you are looking to save some yen it's worth considering!

The tulip displays are plentiful and it's one of my favorite annual flower festivals in our local area. Even outside tulip season the park is a lovely spot to visit, with plenty of other blooms to enjoy at other times of the year.
