I'm a big taiyaki fan, and although my number one preference is the fairly staple custard filling, I don't mind mixing it up every now and then! This chocolate cream filled option from Family Mart was a nice deviation from my usual favorite, and the actual taiyaki dough is chocolate flavored as well. Taste-wise this was delicious -- plenty of chocolate flavor, but not so much that it was overwhelming. I felt that the price was pretty decent too at 178 yen including tax -- I'd buy it again based on both the taste aspect and the relatively wallet-friendly nature of the product.

Personally I don't really have any critiques about the taste or the cost-effectiveness of this product -- I was quite pleased with both elements! I would say a potential downside is that it's a limited time only product, so if you find yourself really enjoying it you've got a pretty short window in which to enjoy it. That small issue aside, I thoroughly enjoyed this and would happily recommend it to any taiyaki fans wanting something different from the more commonly found custard or red bean fillings.
