The selling point is that it's made using only eggs, milk, and sugar, so it's really minimal (and consequently, likely healthier) than some other mass produced pudding items. I did feel that this custard was much more on the firm side than some other custard puddings I've enjoyed while living here. That wasn't a deal breaker for me, but if you do prefer yours to have a bit more of a soft texture then this might not be the right product for you.
