Awesome Japan: Tulip Edition
So my family and I made a trip out to Niigata city recently where we decided to take a stroll to see the iconic Bandai bridge. As we were walking up to it, something else caught our eye...
...the entire sidewalk and bridge were lined with potted tulips. What a nice touch, I thought. Who would have put all these out here? The city?
When I went for closer inspection, I saw this:
The label reads:
Bandai Bridge Tulip Festival
Hakusan Elementary School
These tulips were grown in Niigata City
I love how the preschools and elementary schools here foster a love for nature and encourage the children to work with their hands. It’s one of the reasons why I am so glad that my young children get a chance to go to school here, and for that, I say, Well Done, Japan.
Hitting the books once again as a Ph.D. student in Niigata Prefecture. Although I've lived in Japan many years, life as a student in this country is a first.
Blessed Dad. Lucky Husband. Happy Gaijin (most of the time).
