Gallery - Orange Osmanthus
Mid to late October marks the blooming season of this fragrant flower. The orange osmanthus is a variety of the fragrant tea olive plant. This beautiful shrub or small tree is native to East Asia and is celebrated for its clusters of bright orange flowers and its intense, sweet, and fruity fragrance. It's commonly grown for ornamental purposes and is cherished in gardens for its appearance and scent. I was lucky to be surrounded by these flowers and get to enjoy the fragrance from dusk until dawn. It comes with a sweet, apricot-like aroma that can permeate the surroundings. Often blooms in the fall, but in warmer climates, it may bloom sporadically year-round.
