Muran Gozzo Cafe

Surprisingly classy cafe for inside a train station

Muran Gozzo Cafe is located inside the CoCoLo shopping area at Echigo Yuzawa Station, but don't let the station part of it fool you - the cafe is surprisingly classy! The menu is Italian inspired, so there are a range of pizzas, pastas, meats (including the not-so-Italian hamburger steak), and wines on offer. The lunch set with pizza, soup and salad is great - very filling and reasonably priced. They also have a dessert menu with usual offerings like cheesecakes and tiramisu, but I didn't get a chance to try them - maybe next time! If you're headed up to snow country, or have some time to kill at Echigo Yuzawa Station before your train back to Tokyo, Muran Gozzo punches well above its weight for a train station eatery.
