Cultural displays and heritage house
The Noda City folk museum is actually two buildings a short walk from Nodashi Station on the Tobu Urban Park Line. The larger of the two structures is Mogi House, built in 1923 by a local soy sauce merchant family. The spacious house is decorated with seasonal displays of artifacts and crafts made and donated by local residents. From the veranda, visitors can gaze out on a karasansui dry landscape garden with mature trees and the tea house. The heritage house is a popular spot for cosplay and television productions, so you might see costumed performers on location. Also on the site is the city's museum which displays art, handicrafts, and historical exhibits about the city and its residents. Admission is free, and it's a lovely place to retreat and take your time. Around the museum are some heritage buildings, a historic martial arts dojo and old kura storehouses belonging to the Kikkoman corporation. It's a photogenic corner of Chiba Prefecture.
